To create the background for this card, watercolor paper was dipped in Distress ink 'Salvaged Patina'. On top of that, a pattern was applied with stencil from Josephiena's Design and Distress ink 'Rusty Hinge'.
A piece of old book paper was crumpled up and treated with Distress ink 'Gathered twigs', and then sloppily glued on. This color ink was also used along the edges of the watercolor paper and the picture. The picture comes from 1 of Josephiena's Collage papers and was glued on a thin piece of cardboard for stability. This made it possible to stick the picture on with 3D foam.
Along the edges, playful lines were drawn with a Staedtler fine liner.
To finish it off, it was then glued onto a piece of blue cardstock.

`Love is ...` is a beautiful example for a Valentine's card. For the background, a base was applied with Distress ink `Saltwater Taffy`, by working from the outside in with the blending tool and applying less ink in the middle. Then, with Distress ink `Abandoned Coral` and a stencil from Josephiena's, a border with a leaf pattern was applied. To make the background a little less stiff, some text was stamped here and there with a text stamp from Lavinia Stamps and Distress ink `Saltwater Taffy`.
In the middle, 2 swans and a small bridge for a romantic atmosphere. To make it look like a hidden spot, flowers have been stamped along the edge with VersaFine Clair.

The background was made by dabbing watercolor paper in Distress ink and water. Then a text stamp was used to add texture. Various Lavinia stamps were used along the edges for decoration. A rabbit was cut out from one of Josephiena's Collage papers as a focal point. To complete the garden theme, a garden elf was stamped behind the rabbit.
